2 June 2013 Johannesburg to Paris CDG AF 995. Don't go to the toilet while breakfast is being served because you will not get any. Even though I was travelling Business Class I was told that I could not have my meal as I was not seated when service on. I have travelled on many Business class flights and have never been told this. I was only away for about 5 minutes. My husband had not even started his meal. Air France can learn so much from the Eastern airlines. Singapore Air Emirates Thai! I will never fly Air France again.
Seoul-Paris CDG 777-300ER. Friendly and attentive crew excellent inflight entertainment system and good food. The only problem are the seats: way too cramped for a 12-hour flight!
This was a great business class seat, despite being in the last row of business class. The upper deck of the a380 is my favorite place to be on a flight across the atlantic.
IMO some of the best seats you can get in economy on this plane. Both seats are shifted only about 20cm to the middle of the plane, so 50K has lots of space on the isle side and also 50L has about 10cm free space towards the window. You gain additional storage space for small things you need during the flight from the back of the third seat in front of you. The entertainment system offers an USB port (I think this applies to all economy seats) which supplies enough power to charge an iPhone or similar (but not an iPad) during flight.
We had a connecting flight this morning from Paris to Amsterdam and then back to South Africa. Amsterdam flight delayed meaning we missed our flight to JNB. Told to go to customer service desk it was 40 min before we were helped. Flight changed to depart Paris direct to JNB 14 hours later. This took 40 min just to book new tickets the best we were offered was an economy food ticket no lounge no day room. It was our problem and nobody was going to help us. We went to the lounge and paid for a day pass. I fly on regular basis to Europe and have never been treated like this by any other airline. Our flight to Paris from Amsterdam coming on holiday was also delayed by 2 hours.
these seats a seem much larger than the sizes listed. Business class on the 380 is like first on most others. Lots of storage around the seat and plenty of legroom. seat construction means no one can recline back into your space
Seat was good for economyclass. Good inflight entertainment although the controlpanel was tedious to use. The seat is only 2 in a row but I'd prefer the window seat as it has a storage compartment below the window next to the seat. The overhead bins are smaller to the back of the plane.

The AF Premium Economy seats do not recline. THey have gone for the fixed back type that "slumps" instead. I find these really unconformtable for 13+ hours. ALso since the seat bottom cushion moves forwards, part of the point of extra knee room is lost. I can only imagine that the designers of these seats either have never flow for more than a few hours or are about 5' tall. Also the bulkhead seats in row 14 are very awkward to use a laptop at because the armrest-folding table is too narrow (front to back) and too close to the body. All the more so if you slump the seat. Rows 15 and 16 are better for laptop use but have the same comfort issue.
Plenty of legroom, but uncomfortable for sleeping. The seat backs are fixed and do not recline, they sort of slide down, moving your bottom forward pushing your head down into your chest. Four of us travelling all complained about the sleep quality. Air France spent a lot of money on these seats but it is hard to believe the decision makers tried to sleep in the seats. Flew the A380 LAX-Paris-Johannesberg. Configured 2-3-2 on the upper deck. You have to walk back though an economy to get to the lavs but that was not a problem. Last year we flew Premium Economy on Qantas whose large seats recline probably twice as far as standard economy and quite comfortable.
Seats 81 A and B have only a small table , not the double surface that is provided for other premium eco seats Rows 82 to 85 are better Legroom is not the only thing to look at
