Not Verified | I will never fly Jetstar again. On 21st June 2019 I was meant to fly from Perth to Bali the flight was cancelled for no reason at all. I was put on another flight the next day but before I left home I got a text from Jetstar saying my flight was delayed again. I went to the airport and I finally left Perth at 4pm on Saturday afternoon of the 22nd June.
✅ Trip Verified | Melbourne to Sydney. Horrible service. The face-to-face service at the time of boarding was humiliating and unnecessary, the official started to Scream saying that I didn't have the ticket of boarding while I was looking for the boarding on my bag. I find it give to him and after that they tore up my ticket claiming that I had not understood the first time they asked me if there had been an emergency and they moved the seat to humiliate me even more in front of several customers who were in the queue.
✅ Trip Verified | Adelaide to Melbourne. Use baggage rules that make no sense or difference to the outcome to scam money from you. Even though I had check in luggage allowance, my bag was so small and light that I just carried it on. Travelling for business though, so my laptop tipped me over the 7kg limit. So they pinged me $60 at the gate. Never flying with these scam artists again.
Not Verified | Queenstown to Gold Coast via Cairns. They weighed and charged me $60 for my handbag. This is apparently their thing. Included in your 7kg carry on is your handbag and they enforce it and charged me $60 for 2kg! Way to ruin a holiday. First time Jetstar and never again. The planes was filthy, food and spills on both planes from QT. No screens on international leg & extra crammed seating. May I also suggest having 2 Menus instead of cheapskates using the same one when certain items arent available on domestic flights. Not looking forward to the flight back.
❎ Not Verified | Sydney to Melbourne. Seems with this airline that the flight staff have plenty of attitude and no customer service abilities. Honestly, the quicker they understand the customer comes first and not there work colleagues and there hair extensions the better this airline will be.
✅ Trip Verified | Sydney To Brisbane. So far lately I have not had any disruption from Jetstar and with this latest flight I thought they deserve some positivity. Check In was efficient followed by security, I find them more clueless than frequent flyers and most likely need more training. Boarding was slightly delayed because of baggage restriction being imposed on passengers who have gone over their limit. The cabin crew were mediocre, but being an LLC that's the standard. Arrival was early plus by the time I reached the arrivals hall my luggage was ready for collection, by far the fastest experience I have come across. Keep up the good work.
✅ Trip Verified | Manila to Singapore. Airline personnel at Manila airport have bad customer service, unfortunately the ticket that I bought had no luggage allowance (be warned to double check your ticket) or else you have to pay a ridiculous charge of $80 for 1 luggage. The airline check in system is one of the worst, it took me around 1.5hr to get to the counter. Seat clearance is so small and designed for 5’5” and below. Flight crew don’t smile. Overall, it was a bad experience. I have travelled with different airlines, unfortunately, I would not recommend Jetstar Asia due to poor customer service.
✅ Trip Verified | Brisbane to Denpasar-Bali. I have flown with Jetstar from the very beginning when I first started flying and have never had a problem until now. My first international trip was a disaster to say the least. First of all we checked in and dealt with a rude staff member who separated my sister and I on the plane because he did not speak clearly whilst asking if I would able to help with the emergency exit if it were to come to that. Because he didn’t speak clearly I then said “sorry?” And then told me “it’s not a joke and they take it very seriously so you can’t sit together”. Fair enough although I did not hear this man so I found it very irritating to seperate us based on the fact he didn’t speak clear enough. After our flight we landed in Denpasar (Bali), we went to collect our luggage, stood there for an hour and my bag was no where to be found. After talking to the luggage people at the Denpasar airport, they have gave us a piece of paper and we had not heard anything else. We then put in a claim with Jetstar and waited to hear back from them, we found out our luggage had never actually left Brisbane, where we departed from. This was extremely frustrating as we were in a foreign country with no more then a couple pieces of clothes. Meanwhile waiting to hear back from Jetstar we had to spend a lot of money just to accomodate ourselves with clothes and everyday necessities. We had money, expensive clothes and undergarments in this bag. We finally heard from Jetstar 2 days into our trip saying our baggage was in Bali and they would deliver it to us at our villa. We sent our address and never heard back, here we are leaving and still don’t have our luggage. We went a week without anything, we constantly emailed Jetstar to see what they would do to compensate for this massive problem and they showed no compassion or care for what has happened and have only told us to wait. Luckily a nice man at the Denpasar airport has located our luggage and has set it up on our flight back home and that is the service we wanted. Jetstar has still not done anything at all to help, fix or apologise for this entire issue. Safe to say won’t be flying with Jetstar again.
✅ Trip Verified | Tokyo to Brisbane via Cairns. You may be able to get cheap flights but then they cancel them on you. We bought return flights to Japan They cancelled our return flight and we had to book an extra night at the hotel and then 2 days before we were due to fly back they cancelled it again. They never gave us any options for the date we were supposed to return or the next day so I got on line and booked the very next day but had to fly via Osaka. Flights cost $1200 they refunded $350 and we had to pay another $2000 to get home. Jetstar insurance wouldn't help us either. Worst company ever and we had to pay for food, entertainment everything that is free on other international flights.
✅ Trip Verified | The Jetstar from Narita to Osaka canceled while we are waiting for boarding around 10pm. All they can do is try to book the next morning flight. They dont help for booking hotel or transportation. They don't even suggest what we should do. They tell us go to Haneda airport for next morning fly. We are from US, and are near 70 years old. We end up call taxi to cost over $300usd to go to Haneda airport. We got there past midnight, the airport is closed. We end up sit outside if the airport waiting for 5am. Our hotel at Osaka charged a night when we were sitting out side of Haneda airport. Our tour of Osaka schedule is broken. First and last with Jetstar.
Not Verified | Taipei to Da Nang. Not only are the planes as basic as possible, but the staff is beyond unprofessional and will even attempt to scam money from customers. I was traveling with three people and we had two checked bags: they attempted to put them both onto one passenger, to increase the cost for the second bag, without telling me. They have a "rewards program" that offers a discount on the flight, but then they don't tell you that it automatically renews a year later (after you've done your best to forget this Godawful airline). Avoid at all costs.
✅ Trip Verified | Tokyo to Shanghai. I was denied boarding the flight. Despite showing the staff proof that I did not require a visa to travel to China, they did not allow me to board the flight. I am a Mauritius Citizen and under the laws a Mauritius citizen travelling to China for tourist purposes does not require a visa if the travel is less than 30 days.
✅ Trip Verified | Osaka to Manila with JetStar Japan. First, counter lady tells me I canceled our seat reservation. I objected and showed payment for the choice seats. After much insisting, she eventually relented and issued my seats. Next, she tells me my carry on luggage was too big. I argued that it was a standard size bag. She brings it to the steel frame to show it wouldn't fit. I followed and showed her that it could fit. She let us through with the warning it was up to the gate. When we got to the gate, she was there and she took out a tape measure and this time says the height didn't pass. After much arguing, I just agreed to have it checked in. Even if so many other passengers had same size bags that were allowed. Even the bag of the FA was same size. I don't understand why she wanted to be difficult.
✅ Trip Verified | The staff from the check in was rude, nobody smile. The stewardess also rude, she shouted few times because my son slept on an empty row, somehow the manager came and said it’s okay since it’s an empty seats. It seems Jetstar hire or train rude people to work as their staff.
✅ Trip Verified | Flew Bali to Singapore. Jetstar Asia was an impressive and great airline to travel with. Boarding commenced on time which was great. The crew were also cheerful and friendly. When conducting onboard service, the crew were also careful and considerate. It was overall a great flight and I would definitely fly Jetstar Asia again.
✅ Trip Verified | Osaka to Narita. Absolutely horrid experience. I initially had a two hour layover in Narita. The night before our return flight home to the United States I got a notification that the flight was delayed by 50 minutes. No idea. We wait.. no airplane... delayed 30 mins more .. at this point I’m not sure if I’ll make my flight. Finally the crew moved us to another plane that had been parked since before I got to the gate. Four hour delay is unacceptable. The worst part was that no one would help anyone who was about to be stranded, all of the desks at the airport or essentially closed. Half of the aircraft ended up having to stay in a hotel as well. they have no customer service and no way of complaining other than a robot names jess.
Not Verified | Denpasar to Sydney. Staff were rude and lack of customer service. They hardly smiled and when asking for Pen to fill up the declaration form, they just had a rude face and was like "Somebody borrowed mine". Pilot was very good though. He was keeping us informed.
✅ Trip Verified | Sydney to Melbourne. This was one of the worst airline experiences I had for such a short distance. The problem is the outrageous penalty system built in fare system. Apparently they have 7 kg in cabin limit. Anyways I could check in my baggage for free but apparently if I bring it on board they charge it. I had a back pack which is 8.1 kg while boarding they decide to weigh bags on board. They charged me$60. Look if I had to pay the same price checking in my bag I would not mind. But this is clearly a bad customer policy especially designed to exploit busy people like me who have no time to read fine print. The ground personal was not helpful either. They were on a tight leash.
✅ Trip Verified | Ho Chi Minh city to Sydney. First of all the price is really cheap when comparing to the other airline and because of the cheap price of course the services are not good. The price it showed only the ticket price, not include any other services. You have to pay more for baggage, food or only a blanket and entertainment option. A 8 hours flight with no food, cold but no blanket, bored but can’t watch any show. And the seat, super uncomfortable, I dont know why or just my seat but I can’t pull down the seat so I can’t sleep at all. Obviously this is the worst flight ever.
✅ Trip Verified | Perth to Bali. I spent so much time on Jetstar website for finding how to add a surfboard. After a while I decided to call them but no one was able to do so. After all I started an online chat for adding the surfboard and finally we payed $50 for it. Once we arrived at the airport I’ve been told that the Kg for the surfboard weren’t in the package so they charged me other $100. Then I had tho pay other $50 for flight back so in total I paid $200 for a surfboard.
