Airplane Boeing 747-400 (744) Combi New Business KLM has 3 classes on board with total of 268 seats. Use airplane seat map to find which ones are more comfortable and which ones should be avoided.

There is not a good seat on this cramped aircraft unless you pay the extra for legroom or economy comfort. I love KLM but will avoid this ancient aircraft in future. Knees so squashed, I need an ultrasound to see why they swelled so much thx to the woman in front who was reclined the whole 8 hrs. IFE is ancient, no power supply. Avoid.
I would avoid this seat, as the isle narrows right next to the seat, due to the washroom walls. Because of this, the carts and people that pass by tend to hit your legs more easily (also, there is a metal bar in the leg-space area, which makes you more inclined to stick out your leg to the side, i.e. the isle). Also, sitting so close to the washroom isn't that pleasant on a 11+ hour flight.
Good seat in a cozy cabin. Legroom is good and I'm 6'2". Since the 744 is part of the old fleet, the AVOD is outdated and it has to be rebooted (for the entire aircraft) sometimes.
Please note that all economy and economy comfort seats on these KLM/Delta codeshare 747 combis have armrests that raise only 45 degrees. This means that if you have a row to yourself (e.g. three or four across) and are dreaming of lying flat for your eight-hour flight, forget it. The armrests won't fold up far enough; the can be raised more than about 45 degrees. Why KLM and Boeing thought this was a good idea is beyond me, although it does seem to fit the pattern of actually punishing people who buy air tickets - a depressing trend in air travel.
The seat is comfy and has leg space (no metal box like 29E). The problem is that the plug for the earplugs doesn't work properly, i.e. you have to twist and turn your cable and hold it in a particular position all the time so that you can hear stereo. For long flights it's not great. The food is KLM quality, i.e. quite bad, but much better than AA. The staff was constantly smiling and nice. Enough storage space.
Very nice Economy Comfort Class, completely private and seperated to normal Economy. Way up in the front, the flight was really smooth and silent. In-flight entertainment was old but ok. Very nice aircraft to fly with.
Rather good seat located at the back of the plane. Service is better than in some other areas since they served you first. Of course is economy and there is not much space, but I would say is one of the best from the worst.
Restricted legroom due to IFE
4A is a standard KLM business class seat but being a single seat it offers indeed a lot of space and privacy. Without the proximity of any toilets or gantries if also is a very quite area. Definately one of the better seats in the plane. The (new) KLM business seat itself is ok but not as good as many other airlines (Emirates/ Singapore, etc). Same applies for service, in general good but overall not as perfect as many others especially considering the KLM price level.
This is an Standard economy comfort seat with an extra storage place behind the seat
Row 27 seems a few inches smaller in setup, less space with a claustrophobic feeling. Same plane, row 28 has 'normal' width.
Avid this seat. Minmal leg room due to metal box under the seat in front of you. Couple that with people in the seats on both sides of you and you are squished.
This is a comfortable seat and good for napping in the lie-flat position. Food and drink service are excellent. 1st row is more private. No overhead storage but theres a closet in front for that.
Half of the leg room for seat 10B is blocked by a metal box under seat 9B. Not worth the upgrade to "Economy Comport" except your over 2 meters in height. Then also choose other seat in "Economy Comport".
Seats have AV handset in armrest reducing width. Seat cushions feel like they are original from the Boeing factory back in the 80s. After 4hrs the tush was tired. AVOD screen is small by today's standard and contrast was very poor making difficult to see movies. Although quantity of selections was there, wasn't much for my taste, YMMV. Attendant service has always been pleasant on the 4-5 times I've flown it in last decade. Food is average.
Terrible seat as more than have of available footroom is blocked by inflight entertainment system.
Seat 23C should be considered "Yellow" category. There is a large metal box on the floor by your left foot that SEVERELY restricts leg room. That plus the proximity to the stairwell to the upper deck make this one of the worse seats on the plane. Beware.
Seat is so much smaller than others in comfort cabin. Its even smaller than standard economy seat. The remote controll placed INSIDE the seat doesnt help either. I refused to sit there and the flight attendant was nice enough to find another seat for me.
this row is NEXT to the galley, it is 3 across should only be 2 as the cart has to make the turn into and out of the galley at this point. if flight attendant wearing skirt you will get "swished" as she walks by. seat also seems to be extremely narrow
Best intercontinental flight yet! Loved this KLM 747-400 ( cargo) aircraft configuration. Enconomy comfort section was great. Appreciated a mini tour of this interesting aircraft by the senior purser! A shame they will decommission this plane in a few years.
