bmi British Midland was a British airline with a mainline operation at London Heathrow. IAG bought bmi from Lufthansa in April 2012 and integrated the mainline airline into British Airways during the rest of that year. Its former sister businesses followed different paths: bmi Regional was sold, while bmibaby closed in 2012.
