Frequently asked questions

How do I choose seats on an Envoy American Eagle flight?

American Main Cabin fares include standard seat choice at booking; Preferred and Main Cabin Extra seats may cost more. Basic Economy normally charges for advance choice or assigns a seat free at check-in. Status-based complimentary selection on Basic Economy applies only to tickets bought before 18 May 2026. If no seat is available to choose, check again later or receive one at check-in. Assignments can change for operational, safety or security reasons.

Will my child sit with an adult on an Envoy flight?

For American Eagle bookings with children under 15, reserve everyone together. Choose seats for the whole family or skip selection for that flight. The system searches for seats together; when these are limited, children under 15 are assigned next to at least one accompanying adult. If your reservations are separate, call American so it can note the connection.

Can I keep my cabin bag onboard an Envoy flight?

The allowance is one personal item up to 45 × 35 × 20 cm and one carry-on up to 56 × 36 × 23 cm, including handles and wheels. American Eagle flights generally valet larger bags free at the gate, returning them at the jetbridge; the Embraer 175 is an exception and permits carry-ons without valet service. Remove batteries, electronic cigarettes and other restricted items before a bag goes in the hold.
