Frequently asked questions

How can I choose a seat on Japan Air Commuter?

For JAL domestic bookings, eligible seats can be selected free during booking or in Manage booking until 20 minutes before departure. Availability depends on the fare; more seats may open 48 hours before departure, and assignments can change operationally. For JAC flights booked under an ANA flight number, advance selection is unavailable: request your seat at JAC’s airport counter on departure day.

What cabin baggage fits on Japan Air Commuter?

You may bring one cabin bag plus one personal item, with a combined weight up to 10 kg. The cabin bag must fit within 45 × 35 × 20 cm and 100 cm in total dimensions. JAC’s small aircraft have limited storage: a bag that passes a larger airport’s screening gauge may still need to be checked. Exit-seat passengers must put all belongings in the overhead storage.

Who can sit in a JAC emergency exit seat?

Passengers must be at least 15, able and willing to help with evacuation, understand instructions and relay them to others, and require no assistance themselves. Anyone responsible for assisting another passenger, including a child under eight on a domestic flight, is ineligible. Crew may reassign an unsuitable passenger.
