Frequently asked questions
Can I choose a seat and sit with my companions?
You can select available standard, upfront or extra-legroom seats during booking or later in Manage Booking. Selection costs depend on the fare or bundle. Without advance selection, seats are assigned automatically and companions may be separated. Operational or safety changes can still affect a selected seat.
Who can sit in an emergency exit row?
Passengers must be at least 15, speak and understand Japanese or English, and independently carry out crew instructions, including handling a 15 kg exit door. Restrictions include pregnancy from 28 weeks, infants, needing a seatbelt extension or mobility aids, service dogs, and assisting someone who needs help evacuating. A parent cannot leave a child under 12 alone elsewhere to occupy an exit seat. Hearing and vision must be adequate with any corrective aids; all baggage goes overhead for take-off and landing.
What cabin baggage can I bring?
The standard Economy allowance is one main bag plus one small item, weighing 7 kg together. The main bag must fit within 56 × 36 × 23 cm including handles and wheels; the small item goes under the seat. An eligible bundle or paid +7 kg option raises the combined limit to 14 kg, with no single item above 10 kg. The extra option has limited availability on selected routes.
Can I bring a pet into the cabin?
Ordinary pets and other animals cannot travel in the cabin. Approved assistance dogs are an exception under Jetstar Japan’s specific acceptance requirements; arrange this with the airline in advance.
