Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a seat on a JTA domestic flight?

JAL’s domestic booking service offers eligible seats free during booking or through Manage booking until 20 minutes before departure. The fare determines which seats are available; more may open 48 hours before departure. For flights departing within two days, select after ticket purchase. Aircraft changes or other operational reasons can alter assignments, including seating beside companions.

Who may sit in a JTA domestic emergency exit seat?

You must be at least 15, able and willing to help evacuate, understand and relay crew instructions, and need no assistance yourself. You cannot be responsible for assisting another passenger, including a child under eight on a domestic flight. Crew can move anyone who does not meet these conditions; bags cannot be kept at your feet or on your lap.

What cabin baggage can I bring on JTA domestic flights?

One cabin bag and one personal item are allowed, together weighing no more than 10 kg. The cabin bag must fit within 55 × 40 × 25 cm and 115 cm in total dimensions, including handles and wheels. The personal item must fit under the seat. Oversized, overweight or unstowable bags may be checked into the hold.
