Frequently asked questions
When can I use Kunming Airlines online seat selection and check-in?
The service supports eligible confirmed domestic flights actually operated by Kunming, using tickets beginning 833 purchased through its authorized channels. International and regional flights, connections, groups and endorsed transfers are excluded. Supported cities and flights appear in the system. Online check-in closes 50 minutes before scheduled departure. Seats may change after an aircraft substitution or other disruption.
Who must use an airport check-in counter?
Passengers who are ill, require stretcher or disability assistance, are pregnant, travel as unaccompanied children, or travel with infants must use a staffed counter. Children cannot check in online alone; they must be processed with an accompanying adult. For changes or refunds after online check-in, cancel check-in first; only one online cancellation is allowed.
How do I arrange wheelchair or boarding assistance?
Request boarding or disembarking assistance, such as a wheelchair or lift, at least 48 hours ahead through 0871-96598, option 1. The airline asks you to complete airport check-in two hours before the check-in deadline. Requests to check an electric wheelchair, travel as a group needing disability support or bring a service dog must also be made by 48 hours before departure.
What are Kunming Airlines’ current cabin-baggage limits?
From October 9, 2026, Business allows two bags up to 8 kg each, measuring 20 × 40 × 55 cm each. Economy allows one bag up to 5 kg. On the airline’s differentiated domestic routes, Economy fares other than B include only a bag up to 20 × 30 × 40 cm free; a larger bag up to 20 × 40 × 55 cm requires a paid baggage entitlement. Economy B, Comfort Economy and designated premium routes allow the larger size free. An additional small item fitting under the seat is allowed. The rules use the booked cabin; paid upgrades follow their own terms.
