Frequently asked questions

Does my baby need a separate seat on La Costeña?

Children under two may travel on an adult’s lap for 10% of the adult fare, with no seat or baggage allowance. An infant using a separate seat needs a full adult-fare ticket and a seat requested when booking. Every infant needs a ticket; babies under seven days require medical certification.

Which La Costeña packages include a cabin bag?

Light includes a cabin bag up to 20 lb (9 kg) and a personal item up to 10 lb (4.5 kg). Standard includes a checked bag up to 30 lb (13.6 kg) and the personal item. Essential combines the cabin bag, checked bag and personal item. Cabin-space limits may require a carry-on to be checked; excess baggage travels only if space permits.

Can my cat or dog travel in La Costeña’s cabin?

Cats and dogs may travel in an under-seat kennel if pet and kennel together weigh no more than 8 kg. Notify the airline immediately after booking; only two animals are accepted per flight and exit-row seating is excluded. The cabin-pet fee is US$30 per route. Separate certification and weight rules apply to assistance and emotional-support dogs.
