How do I choose a seat on Lufthansa City Airlines, and when is it free?
Reserve during booking or use My Bookings on Lufthansa.com. Advance selection costs extra on Economy Basic, Light, Comfort and Comfort Green; Economy Flex includes a Classic Seat reservation. Comfort and Comfort Green passengers can choose an available Classic Seat free at check-in, while Light passengers receive an automatic assignment and pay to change it. Specific seats are not guaranteed, and operational or safety changes can require reassignment.
Does every Lufthansa City Airlines Economy fare include a cabin bag?
No. On selected European routes, Economy Basic includes only one personal item measuring up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm; an 8 kg carry-on bag can be added for a fee. Economy Light, Comfort, Comfort Green and Flex include one carry-on bag up to 8 kg plus a personal item. Check the fare shown on your booking, since Basic is available for travel from 19 May 2026 and older fare names may differ.
