Frequently asked questions

Is seat selection included on Mexicana?

Práctica and Total fares include seat selection. Ligera charges for choosing a seat at online check-in. For a free random assignment on Ligera, Mexicana says to report to its airport counters at least two hours and 30 minutes before departure. A specific seat choice and a free random assignment are different options.

What cabin baggage can I bring on Mexicana?

All fares include one cabin bag up to 45 × 25 × 25 cm and one personal item that fits under the seat ahead. Together they must weigh no more than 10 kg. Checked-baggage entitlements depend on the fare; the airline's published maximum bag weight is not an allowance included with every ticket.

Can my pet travel in Mexicana's cabin?

Cats and dogs at least eight weeks old may travel for a fee, subject to approval: one per passenger and no more than three ordinary pets per flight. Pet and carrier together may weigh up to 9 kg; the carrier limit is 40 × 30 × 20 cm. It must allow natural movement, remain closed and fit under the seat. A window seat is assigned, excluding emergency exits. Health certification must be issued within five days for each segment, with the required vaccination documents. Sick, aggressive, sedated or restricted brachycephalic animals are excluded; assistance animals have separate rules.
