Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a seat on a Piedmont American Eagle flight?

American’s Main Cabin fare includes standard seat selection when booking. Preferred and Main Cabin Extra seats can cost more where offered. Basic Economy has different rules. Seats remain subject to operational reassignment, so check the seat options and fare conditions attached to your American booking.

Will a child sit next to an adult on a Piedmont flight?

For an American booking, keep the family in one reservation. If seats are not chosen, American assigns children under 15 next to at least one accompanying adult. This does not guarantee that the whole group will sit together. If you have separate reservations, contact American to have them noted.

Will a larger cabin bag be gate-checked on Piedmont’s ERJ145?

American Eagle’s smaller regional jets require bags larger than personal-item dimensions to be valeted before boarding. Staff tag the bag without charge and return it on the jetbridge after arrival. Keep batteries, electronic cigarettes and other items restricted from checked baggage with you. The ERJ175 exemption does not apply to Piedmont’s ERJ145.
