TMA Seat Maps & Seating Plans

Trans Maldivian Airways, commonly known as TMA, provides seaplane transfers between Malé and island resorts across the Maldives. It began in 1989 as Hummingbird Island Helicopters, introduced seaplanes in 1997 and adopted the TMA name in 2000. The business joined with Maldivian Air Taxi in 2013, bringing together two established resort-transfer operators.

Frequently asked questions

Does an infant get a separate seat on a TMA seaplane?

No. Children under two travel free without a separate seat under TMA’s published infant rules.

What luggage can I take on a TMA seaplane transfer?

The standard allowance is 25 kg: 20 kg checked and 5 kg hand luggage. Infants have no separate allowance, and each piece must be no heavier than 32 kg. Bags may need to follow on another flight because of aircraft limits. Surfboards and oversized equipment require a dedicated charter.

Can a TMA seaplane transfer operate after dark?

No. TMA operates seaplanes only between sunrise and sunset. Arrange transfers through your resort or tour agent and coordinate international-flight times before booking. TMA advises arriving in Malé by 15:30 local time for a same-day resort transfer; weather and operational arrangements still matter.
