Frequently asked questions

How much baggage can I keep with me in the cabin?

Personal items must fit safely on your lap throughout the flight, within a combined space of 18 × 14 × 10 inches (46 × 35 × 26 cm). Larger items may need to be checked and count against the allowance attached to your fare. Checked-bag allowances vary by fare, and excess baggage may travel later if aircraft space or weight limits prevent it from going on your flight.

Can I bring a wheelchair or other mobility aid?

Wheelchairs, mobility aids and medically necessary devices are carried without a baggage charge and do not reduce your allowance. Contact Tropic Air before travel with a powered device because aircraft size can prevent acceptance. Small aids may stay in the cabin if there is space; otherwise they can be checked without an extra charge.

Can I take my pet on Tropic Air?

Domesticated cats and dogs are accepted in approved carriers, with one animal per passenger. Depending on size, the carrier travels on your lap or in a secured kennel in the rear of the aircraft; the larger-kennel arrangement requires advance notice and three full-fare seats. Pets weighing 15 lb or more are not accepted on scheduled international flights, though a charter may be possible. The pet and passenger must check in together, and the animal must remain in its carrier.
