Frequently asked questions

Can I reserve a specific AirKenya seat?

AirKenya uses open seating on a first-come, first-served basis, with aircraft weight distribution and stability taking priority. A particular seat cannot be guaranteed in advance. Passengers needing assistance, unaccompanied minors and those travelling with infants or small children board first.

Can I book extra seating space on AirKenya?

Passengers who cannot comfortably fit into one seat can arrange an additional adjacent seat through Reservations before travel, subject to space availability. The second seat is charged at the child fare plus taxes. This is separate from the freight-seat option for additional baggage.

What is AirKenya's safari baggage allowance?

The total allowance is 15 kg in soft-sided bags, including hand baggage. Cabin items may weigh up to 5 kg within that total; the published hand-bag size is 30 × 53 × 23 cm. The checked-bag guideline is 60 × 45 × 33 cm. Collapsible mobility aids travel free outside the allowance. Excess baggage depends on aircraft space and passenger load, even when arranged in advance.
