Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a seat on a Portugália TAP Express flight?

TAP's seat service explicitly covers TAP Express. Choose during booking or through Manage your Booking; the fare and seat category determine any charge. Discount, Basic and Classic fares incur selection fees. Without included selection, a seat is assigned automatically at check-in. Aircraft changes can alter the seat or its features. If a paid service is lost involuntarily, its unused cost is refundable; voluntary cancellation generally gives a one-year service credit instead. Buying an upgrade does not qualify for a seat-fee refund.

Who may sit at an emergency exit on TAP Express?

You must be at least 16, understand and speak Portuguese or English, move quickly and be able to understand written and spoken instructions. Passengers travelling with cabin animals, in custody, deported or deemed inadmissible cannot book these seats. A physical or sensory impairment that prevents those duties also makes an exit seat unsuitable.

What hand baggage is allowed on Portugália TAP Express?

For its European, North African and domestic network, TAP's allowance is one 10 kg cabin bag in Economy or two in Business, each no larger than 55 × 40 × 25 cm. One additional personal item may weigh up to 2 kg and measure 40 × 30 × 15 cm. It must fit under the seat ahead. Even compliant bags may be carried in the hold when cabin space is limited.
