Frequently asked questions

Is seat selection free, and can my family sit together?

Advance seat selection is free on all fares, subject to availability. You can select adjoining seats when available, but the airline warns that companions may not be able to sit next to one another. For bookings made within 24 hours of departure, select during online check-in. Seats may change because of an aircraft substitution or other unavoidable circumstances.

Who can sit in an emergency exit row?

Passengers must be at least 15, speak Japanese or English, understand and relay crew instructions, and be able and willing to help with evacuation and door operation. They must not need boarding assistance, be responsible for assisting a companion during evacuation, or travel with a child under eight. All belongings must go overhead, with none under the seat, at the feet or on the lap.

How do I arrange wheelchair assistance?

Tell the Disability Desk about your walking needs and wheelchair when reserving, at least 48 hours before departure. Supply its size, weight, folding details and battery type using the checklist. Checking your wheelchair is free, subject to aircraft loading limits. A companion must travel with you if you need help eating or using the toilet, as staff cannot provide personal care.

What cabin baggage can I bring?

Bring one cabin bag and one personal item weighing no more than 10 kg together. The cabin bag must be within 55 × 40 × 25 cm and 115 cm in total across its three dimensions; the personal item must fit within 40 × 30 × 20 cm under the seat ahead. An accepted cabin stroller replaces the main cabin bag. Items that cannot be safely stowed may be checked.

Can an ordinary pet travel in the cabin?

Ordinary dogs, cats and other pet mammals cannot travel in the passenger cabin; eligible pets can be accepted in the hold. Some small fish, turtles and insects may be allowed in a secure, leakproof container after staff approval; check this exception before travel. Checked pets need an appropriate rigid cage and consent form, with space and health restrictions. Pets under four months old, pregnant pets and sedated pets are not accepted. Listed short-nosed dog breeds are not accepted for checking from 1 May through 31 October.
