Do I have to pay to choose an Air New Zealand seat?
It depends on your fare and eligible Koru membership benefits. If standard selection is not included, you can buy a seat through seatselect at booking or by retrieving your reservation; you can also accept a free allocation at check-in. On long-haul flights, available standard seats become free when online check-in opens 24 hours before departure. Paid seatselect closes three hours before international departures or 30 minutes before domestic departures. These options apply to Air New Zealand-operated flights, subject to availability.
What carry-on bags does Air New Zealand allow?
Economy permits one cabin bag up to 7 kg plus one small personal item. The cabin bag must be within 55 × 40 × 23 cm including wheels and handles; on Q300 aircraft the depth limit is 22 cm. Premium Economy, Business Premier and eligible Koru or Star Alliance Gold members receive two cabin bags with a combined limit of 14 kg, with one item up to 10 kg, plus a small item. Check other operating airlines separately on a mixed-carrier journey.
