Frequently asked questions

When is my Chalair seat assignment confirmed?

Check-in establishes your final seat assignment. Chalair can still move you to another seat for operational reasons, including when a particular seat was reserved.

How do I arrange Chalair mobility assistance?

Tell Chalair when booking or at least 48 hours before departure. If you need help later, notify it as soon as possible so it can make the available arrangements. Complete its reduced-mobility form and send it to reservations@chalair.fr. Acceptance depends on the aircraft and safety requirements. Allow for the reservation office being closed at weekends.

What cabin bags can I take on Chalair?

Every fare includes one bag up to 55 × 35 × 25 cm and 10 kg, plus a personal accessory up to 30 × 40 × 15 cm and 2 kg. On Beechcraft 1900 flights, the cabin-bag weight limit is 6 kg. If cabin space is limited, bags can be put in the hold at boarding and returned as you leave the aircraft.

Is checked baggage included on Chalair?

It depends on your ticket. If none is included, you can add a bag until three hours before departure for EUR 30; at the airport it costs EUR 40. A second 23 kg bag costs EUR 50 in advance or EUR 60 at the airport. A piece over 23 kg, up to the 32 kg maximum, incurs an overweight charge.

Can my pet travel in Chalair’s cabin?

One small pet can travel in a closed approved bag if the animal and bag together weigh no more than 8 kg. It must be at least 15 weeks old, vaccinated and stay completely inside the bag throughout the flight. Arrange it when booking because capacity is limited; the fee is EUR 50 per journey. Dogs in the airline’s prohibited first and second categories are excluded. Pets cannot currently travel in the hold on Chalair’s ATR aircraft.

Can a guide dog accompany me on Chalair?

Yes, without an additional animal fee, subject to a limit of one guide dog per flight. Send Chalair’s reduced-mobility form to reservations@chalair.fr in advance, allowing for the office’s weekend closure.

Does an infant have a separate seat on Chalair?

Chalair requires children under two to share the accompanying adult’s seat, with one infant per adult. On ATR services, infant capacity is limited and depends on the aircraft.

Can a child travel alone on Chalair?

An unaccompanied-child service is available for ages 4–11 on ATR 42 and ATR 72 flights, subject to capacity. It is not available on Beechcraft 1900D services. Arrange it through reservations or a travel agency rather than booking it online. After acceptance, complete the form naming the adults at departure and arrival, and provide the child’s valid identity document. From age 12, children can travel alone without airline supervision.

When can I check in online with Chalair?

Where available, online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes two hours before departure. It is unavailable from Ajaccio, Pau, Nice and Kerry, where you use the airport counter. If online check-in fails, airport check-in is free. For French domestic flights, check-in closes 30 minutes before departure; checked bags still need to be dropped at the counter before the deadline.
