Frequently asked questions

Can I choose an Avelo seat?

Yes. You can pay to choose Standard, Stretch or Stretch+ seating, or let Avelo assign your seat. Stretch has extra legroom; Stretch+ also blocks the middle seat beside you. You can change your selection through the app or Manage Trips. Paying for Avelo travel with the Avelo Airlines World Elite Mastercard includes Standard seat selection for travelers on that reservation.

Does Stretch+ replace an extra seat if I need more space?

No. If you cannot sit safely and comfortably in one seat, Avelo requires an additional seat for each flight. Buying both together lets you purchase the second at the same fare; buying it on departure day uses the fare then available. Stretch+ does not meet this extra-seat requirement.

Who can sit in an Avelo emergency exit row?

You must be at least 15, able to perform evacuation duties independently, understand crew instructions and communicate information in English. You cannot use a seat-belt extension, portable oxygen concentrator or mobility device. A condition or responsibility, such as caring for a small child or pet, must not prevent you from helping or put you at risk.

Will my child sit with an adult on Avelo?

Children aged 14 and under are seated with an accompanying adult at no extra cost. Book them on the same reservation and either choose seats for everyone or skip selection for everyone. If adjacent seats are unavailable, tell the gate agent. When these conditions are not met, Avelo will still try to seat the child with an adult.

How do I request Avelo wheelchair or boarding assistance?

Add your needs under Special assistance when booking or in Manage Trips, or call Avelo. Advance notice of a disability is generally not required, though it helps preparation. For an aisle wheelchair at the gate, request it when booking at least 48 hours before departure. Your necessary wheelchair travels without an additional equipment charge; battery-powered devices require handling information and earlier airport arrival.

What cabin bags are included on Avelo?

One under-seat personal item up to 17 × 13 × 9 inches is free. An overhead carry-on up to 22 × 14 × 9 inches normally costs extra, with higher charges after the initial reservation. An active-duty military traveler showing current identification receives one carry-on free. Paying for travel with the Avelo Airlines World Elite Mastercard also includes a carry-on for travelers on that reservation. Necessary mobility aids do not count against these limits.

What are Avelo’s usual checked bag limits?

A standard checked bag can weigh up to 50 lb and measure 62 inches in total outside dimensions, including handles and wheels. Bags normally cost extra, and buying them with the initial reservation costs less. Heavier or larger accepted bags incur additional charges; ordinary bags over 70 lb or 80 total inches are not accepted. Active-duty military travelers with current identification receive up to two free checked bags, subject to route embargoes.

Can an infant travel on my lap on Avelo?

A child under two can be booked as an Infant in Lap. If you buy an infant a separate seat, bring an approved child restraint for taxi, takeoff, landing and whenever the seat-belt sign is on. It must fit and cannot block another passenger’s access. Booster seats are not permitted. From the second birthday, the child needs a separate seat.

Can a child fly alone on Avelo?

Only from age 15. Children aged 14 or younger must travel with a parent, guardian or another traveler aged at least 15. Avelo does not offer an unaccompanied-minor service for younger children.

Can my pet travel in Avelo’s cabin?

Small cats, dogs, rabbits and birds can travel for USD 125 each way per carrier. Reserve the pet add-on online before travel; capacity is limited. Each traveler can bring one carrier holding at most two small pets. A hard carrier must fit within 17 × 13 × 9 inches; a soft carrier must fit the same under-seat space. Pets must be able to stand and turn and must remain inside the carrier throughout the flight. Passengers traveling with pets cannot sit at an exit or in a seat without forward under-seat storage. Avelo does not carry pets in the cargo bin.
