Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay to choose a JetSMART seat?

Choosing a specific available seat costs extra. If you skip selection, a seat is assigned free at check-in. Paid choices can be added through the website, Contact Center or airport.

Who can sit in a JetSMART exit row?

You must be older than 15, understand Spanish or English, and be willing and physically able to operate the exit and help others. You cannot be caring for a child under 12 or another passenger needing help, or travelling with a cabin pet. Failing eligibility means reassignment without refund.

Will a child sit beside an adult on JetSMART flights within Chile?

Chile’s passenger-rights authority says airlines must take the necessary measures to seat children under 14 beside at least one adult family member or an adult on the same reservation. This does not promise adjacent seats for the entire group.

How do I arrange JetSMART wheelchair assistance?

Request it during booking under Special Needs, or through the Contact Center at least 48 hours ahead. Your wheelchair or necessary mobility prosthesis travels free. Assistance depends on declared mobility and airport facilities; it excludes personal care in flight. Wet or spillable wheelchair batteries are not accepted.

What cabin baggage is included with JetSMART?

On JetSMART Chile, the basic fare includes a small bag up to 10 kg and 45 × 35 × 25 cm. A larger cabin bag, up to 10 kg and 55 × 35 × 25 cm, costs extra. Measurements include handles, wheels and pockets. One laptop sleeve, garment cover or diaper bag is also allowed free.

Can I bring a pet into the JetSMART cabin?

Eligible cats and dogs aged at least three months travel for a fee on direct flights without connections. Pet and carrier together may weigh 10 kg; use a soft, ventilated, waterproof, wheelless carrier up to 38 × 35 × 22 cm. Reserve at least 48 hours ahead; one pet per passenger and four per flight are allowed. Check in at the airport with required documents. The pet stays under the seat in its carrier; first and exit rows are excluded.

Can children fly alone on JetSMART services involving Chile?

JetSMART has no Unaccompanied Minor service. Children under 14 on flights within, to or from Chile must travel with an adult older than 18 on the same reservation. Adolescents aged 14–17 need the documents required for their journey.
