Frequently asked questions

When can I choose a seat on ZIPAIR?

Paid advance selection closes 24 hours before departure, or 48 hours for front-row and exit seats. Otherwise ZIPAIR assigns a seat at check-in. Changes attract a new selection fee, and voluntary purchases are non-refundable; airport counter changes are unavailable within 24 hours of departure. Contact-centre bookings incur a handling fee. ZIP Full-Flat seats require passengers to be at least seven years old.

Who can sit in a ZIPAIR emergency exit row?

You must be at least 15, communicate in Japanese or English, understand and relay instructions, and be able and willing to help open doors and assist evacuation without needing assistance yourself. Pregnant passengers and those accompanying children under 15 are excluded. ZIPAIR may reassign anyone who does not qualify.

Can children sit next to an adult without a ZIPAIR seat-selection fee?

For children aged six or younger, select the child's and one adjacent adult's seats together to receive free selection; separate selections can be charged. Adjacent seats must be available. Canada-bound flights also provide free adjacent seating for children aged 7–14 and one accompanying adult, with at most two children per adult; service packages are unavailable for that category. This does not give every adult in a family free seat choice.

How do I arrange wheelchair or seating assistance on ZIPAIR?

Contact ZIPAIR before travel with your booking reference, passenger names, contact details and assistance needs. For a wheelchair, describe your walking and stair-climbing ability, its dimensions, weight, foldability and battery details. Advance seat selection is recommended and may cost extra. Passengers needing help with personal care must sit beside a companion, because crew cannot provide that care.

What cabin baggage is included with ZIPAIR?

You may bring two pieces with a combined weight limit of 7 kg: one up to 55 × 40 × 25 cm and the other up to 35 × 45 × 25 cm. You can buy an extra 8 kg, increasing the combined limit to 15 kg, at least 24 hours before departure. That upgrade cannot be bought at the airport on travel day. Bags exceeding the piece, size or maximum weight limits must be checked.

Does ZIPAIR accept pets in the cabin?

Ordinary pets and other live animals are not accepted. Qualified assistance or service dogs accompanying a passenger with a disability may travel in the cabin free of charge under ZIPAIR's requirements, with satisfactory documentation. Arrange this with the airline in advance.
