Frequently asked questions
How do I choose a Smartavia seat?
Paid selection is available on Smartavia’s own flights during or after booking, online check-in or airport check-in. Online check-in runs from 24 to three hours before departure. Unaccompanied children and cabin-pet travellers are assigned designated seats and cannot use ordinary seat selection. Aircraft or safety changes may alter assignments.
Who can use a Smartavia emergency-exit seat?
Passengers must be aged 18–59 and understand Russian or English. Pregnant travellers, people needing belt extensions, and those unable to follow instructions or help with an evacuation are excluded. Other restrictions cover custody or deportation cases and certain cabin loads. If you bought a Comfort seat for which you are ineligible, reassignment does not bring a refund.
Will my child sit beside me on Smartavia?
Children under 12 and their accompanying passenger receive adjacent seats in the same row, without an aisle between them, at no extra charge, subject to flight-safety requirements. This adjacent seating at check-in does not require paying a seat-selection fee.
How do I arrange Smartavia mobility assistance?
Describe your needs when booking, including your mobility device’s dimensions, weight and battery details. Special assistance is free. Smartavia recommends arriving at check-in at least 90 minutes before check-in closes and reporting to the desk. Priority boarding and an onboard wheelchair are available. A carer is required for travellers with both sight and hearing disabilities and for disabled children under 12.
Can a guide dog travel in Smartavia’s cabin?
Yes, free, after advance airline confirmation. Present disability and dog-training documents. The dog travels at your feet with a collar, muzzle and secured lead; designated seats are towards the rear, outside exit rows. Guide dogs do not count towards the ordinary pet quota.
What is Smartavia’s cabin-bag limit?
The main cabin bag may weigh up to 10 kg and measure 40 × 30 × 20 cm. It must fit easily into the airline’s sizer with the lid closed. Smartavia checks cabin baggage at check-in and again before boarding.
Can I bring a pet into Smartavia’s cabin?
Eligible cats, dogs and birds can travel for a separate fee when animal and carrier together weigh no more than 12 kg. The carrier’s three dimensions must total at most 115 cm and allow natural movement. Register the pet, pay the service charge and bring its veterinary passport. It stays in its carrier under the seat or at your feet. Exit rows, front-row floor space, areas near kitchens or toilets, and seat blocks with children or other pets are excluded.
